The 2008-2009 Next Gen “Luck of the Draw” contest series ended with the finals at the club dance on June 6, 2009. A “Luck of the Draw” contest is an inclusive version of the traditional Jack & Jill, where both genders can choose to sign up as leaders or followers.

The 2008-2009 contest series included 9 preliminary rounds starting in August 2008. Couples who placed 1st, 2nd, or 3rd during the preliminary rounds qualified for the finals.

Preliminary rounds were held at Next Gen monthly dances and drew 16 to 26 couples. Because there are so many competitors, we also like to announce the 4th and 5th place couples in addition to 1st through 3rd, even though they don’t qualify for the finals.
