This is how you create a new album on the website.

1. You must be logged in with the PROPER authority ON THE GALLERY. For now, you have to log in to the GALLERY even if you are already logged into the website. You use the same userid and password. We have special groups established which allow for varying levels of access on the gallery. There is a group called PHOTO COMMITTEE, which a few people are assigned to. In addition to the Photo Committee, Administrators and Super Administrators have the ability to edit, delete and maintain most aspects of the gallery. 

2. The login is located at the top right of the yellow section of the gallery (red elipse).

3. Navigate to the album where you want to insert a new album. For example, if you want to create a new album in the Monthly Dances album for this month, click on Monthly Dances.

4. Open up the SIDEBAR by clicking on the sidebar icon (green circle).

5. Select the ADD ALBUM action from the Sidebar.

6. NAME the Album, "January 2010" or whatever. Put something similar in the TITLE, SUMMARY, and DESCRIPTION.

7. Hit CREATE.

8. Select ADD ITEMS from the Sidebar.

9. Use the UPLOAD APPLET to upload a number of files at once, from a folder, for example.

10. If you get any errors on the java applet, just try starting it again, it usually works. If you select "resize pictures before upload," it won't save the originals, so don't do that. Select all your files. Then press UPLOAD. Depending on how many and how large they are, it could take quite a while. Go get a cup of coffee or go to bed! :)

11. Check to see if you got what you thought you were going to get!

12. After you've created an album, please go back into it (edit album) and edit the album date so that it is sorted properly with the rest of the albums. If you aren't sure of a setting, look at similar albums. Please don't experiment, I've already done that and have everything set the way I want it. THANKS!
