Dottie has been a driving force in the California dance community for over 30 years. She continues to promote and further the art and history of West Coast Swing, along with goodwill amongst all dancers. She served as president of the Capital Swing Dancers of Sacramento ("CSD") for four years, and is an Honorary Life-time Member of CSD. February of 1996, she received from the State of California, Senate Rules Committee, a 1996 Senate Resolution acknowledging her unexcelled enthusiasm and commitment in creating a legacy of community involvement and civic concern that inspired the citizens of her community and state, and also for her role in securing recognition for and establishing "West Coast Swing" as California's official state dance.

As her trophies show, Dottie's dance career has been and continues to be very full and rewarding. She has posted a long competitive history of top-three placements, and continues her status as a qualified judge, invitational dancer, studio owner, dance instructor and event director.

She was inducted into the California Swing Dancer's Hall of Fame in 2000, and is a member of the following dance organizations:

World Swing Dance Council

The most important thing about learning to dance is feeling comfortable and having fun. Dottie's Just Dancin' is designed with that concept in mind. Even though, Dottie's Just Dancin' is a mobile Studio, you will still find a comfortable and friendly atmosphere that always says "welcome" wherever the classes and workshops are being held.
