Ballroom in Emeryville for our monthly club dance on Saturday, September 4.

Our DJ is Kelly Casanova and
our beginning lesson is being offered by Dani Canziani.
This
month we will not hold a contest -- so come out and enjoy social dancing all night! The dance starts at
6pm. The lesson is from 7-8pm in the back room.
$7 member / $12
non-member / $5 student entrance fee includes the lesson and dance.
REMINDER:
We are now checking membership cards at the door. We want to make
dances more secure and ensure that current members receive the dance
discount membership benefit. So make sure to bring your card with you to speed up the process at the register!
The address of the Allegro
Ballroom is 5855 Christie Avenue, Emeryville, and is conveniently
located off of I-80 next to the Powell Street exit (just past the IKEA
and Trader Joe's). Coming from I-80, take the Powell Street exit headed East, turn left on Christie Avenue just past the Denny's, and turn left
into the parking lot at the last entrance in front of the strip of
buildings. The Allegro is to the back of the strip.

If you aren't coming to Boogie by the Bay this
year -- to dance with up to 1,500 WCS dancers from all of the world on
Columbus Day weekend -- don't feel left out! Two of the night dances are
open to the public:
Thursday Night, October 7, 2011 (workshop & dance free with weekend pass; otherwise $10)
8:00 pm - Early Bird Workshop
9:00 pm - Early Bird Dance - West Coast Swing Dancing
Late nite - West Coast Swing ('till you drop)
Sunday Night, October 10, 2011 (free with weekend pass; otherwise $10)
7:30 pm - Sunday night dance (WCS - Main Ballroom: Lindy - Regency Ballroom)

HALLOWEEN PROGRESSIVE "Luck of the Draw"
Hey Northern California competitors -- you have a great opportunity to compete through Halloween weekend. Three of your favorite dance venues are collaborating on a progressive "Luck of the Draw" contest starting on Friday at Two Left Feet, continuing on Saturday night at TNGSDC's Monthly Dance, and culminating on Sunday night at Mike Pyle's Lakeside Swing. This will be fun, so download HALLOWEEN PROGRESSIVE flyer. Here are the specifics:
Three Qualifying Rounds (Oct. 29, 30, 31) • Top 5 couples from each round qualify for finals!!
Friday: 1 - Two Left Feet, Danville, CA • contest sign-up before 10:00
Saturday: 2 - TNGSDC Dance, Emeryville, CA • contest sign-up before 7:30
Sunday: 3 - Lakeside Swing,Oakland, CA • contest sign-up before 7:30
Finals (Oct. 31) • $200 split among the top 3 couples!!

Congratulations to the winners of Preliminary Round #1
of Next Gen's "Luck of the Draw" dance contest held at the Next Gen club
dance on August 7, 2010. These dancers placed 1st through 5th out of 25
couples competing.
We will have 8 preliminary Luck of the Draw
rounds with the finals at the Next Gen dance on June 4, 2011. Couples who place during the preliminary rounds qualify for the finals.

The Next Generation Swing Dance Club in northern California, informally called "Next Gen", was formed in 1989 to promote and encourage the fun and art of West Coast Swing and other social and swing dances.
