TNGSDC Turns 21 in April!

Please join The Next Generation Swing Dance Club at the Allegro Ballroom in Emeryville for our monthly club dance on Saturday, April 3. We will be celebrating our 21st year - so come help commemorate that milestone. We're looking forward to seeing you there!

The DJ is Mike Pyle and  the lesson is being offered by Kurt Senser. There will not be a contest this month because of TNGSDC's 21st Birthday celebration. The 7th Luck of the Draw preliminary round will resume at the May Club dance.

The dance starts at 6pm.
 The lesson is from 7-8pm in the back room. The $7 member / $12 non-member / $5 student entrance fee includes the lesson and dance.

REMINDER: We are now checking membership cards at the door. We want to make dances more secure and ensure that current members receive the dance discount membership benefit. So make sure to bring your card with you to speed up the process at the register!

Congratulations to the winners of Preliminary Round #6 of Next Gen's Luck of the Draw dance contest. These dancers placed 1st through 5th out of 30 couples competing.

We will have 8 preliminary Luck of the Draw rounds - the last preliminary round will be at the May dance! The finals at the Next Gen dance on June 6, 2010. Couples who place 1st, 2nd, and 3rd during the preliminary rounds qualify for the finals.

Anyone can easily add their own event to the Next Gen Dance calendar! It's free and it's pretty easy. Historically, calendar entries were maintained by the webmaster. It had to be that way because the old site was the old technology. Not anymore! The idea is that this is a community website and members are encouraged to contribute and interact, not just take and partake. When we first put the site up, I manually rekeyed all the calendar entries into the new calendar system. With the new website upgrade, we're now able to be more proactive in getting the membership online. So, now you can find your own userid and password to get logged in and create and manage your own entries on the calendar and other places as well.
